When Jesus gave the commandment in Mark 16:15 to “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” He wasn't just talking about the five-fold ministry offices. He was talking to all believers. In verse 17 He says, “and these signs shall follow them that believe.” The “them” He is referring to is you and me. Everyone has a responsibility to win souls. If you are a believer, then you qualify.
The problem is the average person is afraid they will say something wrong. They don’t understand Holy Spirit, the Helper, the Standby is always there to assist us. All we have to do is ask. When I first got started, I had the same issue until I realized that all I had to do was “sow the seed” and the Holy Spirit would do the work.
I would look for opportunities in everyday life to tell them how good God was or to demonstrate what I believe. For example, I would pay for someone’s es when they were short of money. This would open the door for me to tell them that the Lord was looking out for them and sent me to help. Most of the time they would start to cry and say thank you, which gave me the opportunity to get them saved.
Using your personal testimony is also an excellent ministry tool. No one can argue with your personal testimony because it is YOURS! They cannot argue about what God has done in your life because they don’t know. Explain to them what your life was like before you became a Christian and how your life has changed since that day. Talk about the goodness of God and His grace and mercy and before you know it you will be leading them in the sinner’s prayer.
Just start where you are and ask the Lord for an open door and then walk right through it. You are a soul winner!
